We are Stables Lodge, a lovingly restored Victorian stable offering a warm and welcoming place to stay in Burnaston close to Derby. Set within peaceful countryside, our family-run accommodation combines historic character with modern comfort for families, business travellers, and holidaymakers. We provide spacious self contained lodges, safe outdoor areas for children, and flexible dog-friendly accommodation to suit every guest. A Bit About Our History
The Victorian Stables building has been lovingly restored using original timbers and gables. All windows and stable doors have been handmade locally with hard wood in the Victorian style.
The project, which was completed in 2008, has successfully combined the charm of the original construction with all the modern facilities you would expect from high-class accommodation. The building dates back to the late 1880’s and was originally built to stable working horses at the Royal Showground in Warwickshire. It was then moved to Rangemoor Hall in Staffordshire for the same purpose. When Rangemoor Hall estate was renovated in early 2000 the stables were no longer required and were to be demolished.
We purchased the stables which were moved, painstakingly, piece by piece and erected on their present site. The cast iron steels show the ironwork companies names being T. Woodroffe & Co, Albion Ironworks, Rugeley, Staffordshire and Simkiss & & Knighton, Derby.
What We Offer
Having family members scattered throughout the UK, we picked the Derby area with a pin, as being central for everyone's travel arrangements. Jane was most helpful and adaptable throughout the booking process, and the accomodation, for our Golden Wedding celebration proved first class, with each lodge having everything you would need. The function room was absolutely ideal for a family party, and everyone enjoyed themselves immensely, the brilliant weather and acres of closely mown grass for the grandchildren etc. to play games on was perfect. A great spot to create some happy family memories!
